Customer Account SpecialistPosition Summary:
Silgan Containers is seeking a dynamic professional who will provide business analysis of our customer requirements, assist in developing sales forecasts and plans to meet those forecasts, and develop key relationships, both internal and with external customers to ensure that our orders are filled in full and on time. The successful candidate will provide ongoing sales support, opportunity analysis, and value based customer service in a team-oriented environment.

Essential Job Functions:
As a Customer Support Specialist/Inside Sales Representative, you will have three key areas of responsibility:
Customer Service:
  • Respond to customer inquiries, identify customer needs, and fully support the sales cycle
  • Utilize Silgan systems to input and process data to manage the day to day inbound and outbound communications and product flow with Silgan customers, sales management teams, and all other cross-functional teams
  • Coordinates Silgan s products as they flows through the supply chain from the warehouse to order fulfillment to our customers
  • Work closely with sales management to optimize sales processes, ensure quality service, and prioritize opportunities for improvement
  • Achieve department and organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Relationship Management:
  • Use your strong interpersonal skills to expand relationships, resolve customer inquiries, and collaborate with internal, cross-functional resources to provide unparalleled service to our customers
  • Provide product and company knowledge as well as friendly and efficient customer service while maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationship
  • Operate as the key point of contact with customers for all sales matters specific to the progress or concerns in relations to order fulfillment
Financial Management:
  • Work with the Sales Account Manager and Sales team to ensure synergy and alignment of customer sales goals
  • Manage the customer supply chain including: allocation, inventory, forecasts, and logistics
  • Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of sales-related data in an ongoing effort to increase overall sales productivity and achieve company revenue goals
  • Monitor customer payments and credits using accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions

Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor s degree and 1+ years of experience in a customer service position, preferably in a manufacturing environment OR High School diploma and 5+ years of experience in a customer support position, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and strong financial acumen
  • Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Strong listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point)
