DescriptionGENERAL OVERVIEW:Manages laboratory operations and is responsible for all employment related activities, budgets, fiscalperformance and quality assurance. May also function as Technologist to cover departmental staffing requirements.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provides leadership to staff to ensure quality patient care by utilizing the performance improvement model to correct quality issues. Ensures that compliance standards are met. (20%)* Oversees the development/revision of procedure manuals and reviews and signs all written procedures yearly. (20%)* Performs all steps necessary relative to hiring, evaluating, coaching, promoting, disciplining & discharging employees by following established HR policies. (20%)* Prepares and maintains budgets. Maintains a fiscal awareness and continually strives to operate in a cost-efficient manner. (20%)* Proactively investigates modern technologies as they become available. Pursues technologies that will enhance staff productivity while ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
