JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse - Specialty Nurse ll (OB-GYN)

WORK TYPE: Full Time
Serves in an expanded role to assess gynecology/oncology patient needs, plan and provide nursing care and coordinate follow-up care. Participates in research and educates patients and nursing staff.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
Works under the administrative direction of the Team Leader and Operations Manager and the clinical guidance of the Gyn/Onc Physician Staff.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates flexibility in response to unexpected changes in workload, staffing and scheduling.
Demonstrates ability to maintain BLS Certification every two years.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and education appropriate to age of the patient.

Demonstrates flexibility and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Demonstrates communication that supports a culture of Service Excellence.
Demonstrates good organizational skills and effective communication skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required.
Registered nurse currently licensed in Pennsylvania or eligible to be licensed required.
Knowledge of cancer chemotherapy and protocol research preferred.
BSN (or in active pursuit)preferred. MSN preferred.
Participation in continuing education activities to maintain and enhance knowledge required.
Oncology nursing certification (OCN) is required to be obtained within three years. An advanced oncology nursing certification (AOCN) preferred.
Minimum two years clinical experience, with preferred experience in Hematology-Oncology or Gynecology/Oncology, required.
