Job Description Regional Marketing Clinical Diagnostics Division, Americas Commercial Global Sales and Marketing Organization Reports To: Group/Division: Specialty Diagnostics Group/Clinical Diagnostics Division Career Band: 7 Job Track: Professional Location: United States - remote No. of Direct Reports: 0 FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: The Regional Marketing Manager is responsible for monitoring, developing and continuously refining Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) strategy and execution towards growth and support of the Quality Controls. This individual will work closely with commercial marketing, sales, global marketing, regulatory, quality assurance and technical support to ensure that our market leadership position is constantly expanding relative to the competitive landscape. This is a key role responsible for both defining and serving the Americas QC market with products and services customized to customers needs. Key Responsibilities: Define strategic priorities for his/her product line in the Region, through: Market analysis and Pricing Initiatives Improving Value Proposition, Targeting & Positioning adjustment within the Region Creating Business Cases (Supporting business unit requirements, Registration) Develop and implement regional marketing initiatives related to his/her product line: marketing campaigns, conferences, customer events, webinars and lead generation activities. Identify needs for regional marketing collaterals with Global Marketing BU and Regional Marcom. Routinely work with Commercial Sales Director for the region on strategy execution. Routinely communicate with the commercial sales team regarding product updates and availability, competitive activity, sales positioning, best practices, and new product development updates. Actively work and support commercial team with distribution sales channels objectives. Actively work with Thermo Corporate Accounts Director for promotion within GPO contracting companies. Support sales education with updated materials and communications on an ongoing basis. Align go-to-market strategy with business unit profitability and strategic objectives. Monitor the Marketing budget related to his/her product lines. Define and implement regional launching plans for new products. Maintain products updates and communications for the product line. Develop and cultivate a regional KOL network. Support AOP preparation under the supervision of the Regional Sr. Manager and Global Marketing. Provide market analysis: market & customer trends, competition. Coordinate product recall and backorder activities when needed. Create monthly & quarterly marketing reports for his/her product lines. Analyze, revise and coordinate with Global marketing the necessary product forecasts for his/her product lines. Ensure that an adequate inventory of products is maintained at all time. Requirements/Qualifications: BS in life sciences, biology, chemistry and/or engineering preferred. Other background could be accepted under certain circumstances (business). Skilled in marketing, especially downstream marketing and marketing mix. Previous sales experience is a plus. Product Management experience in product lifecycle management. Ability to conduct product portfolio analysis; determine new product opportunities; margin optimization; rationalization. Familiar with Digital Marketing and CRM (Salesforce.com a plus). Knowledge of the IVD market and especially Quality Controls, Molecular and chemistry/immunoassay products. Understanding of selling through distribution channels and obtaining mindshare of their sales force. Basic understanding of GPO contracts preferred. Analytic & strategic skills. Experienced in utilizing Microsoft Excel for data extrapolation. Excellent communication & presentation skills. Experience working in or with complex matrixed organization. Mainly domestic but occasionally overseas travel of 20% - 25%. Travel may take place on weekends and outside of normal business hours. Position will require being able to sit and to stand for several hours at a time. Must be in possession of a valid drivers license and passport to ensure international travel.
Essential Behaviors and Skills: Essential Behaviors and Skills Job experience: minimum 3 to 5 years in marketing or sales in the IVD industry. Experience in commercial product launch in the healthcare industry. Experience in sales as a field sales representative or as an account manager is preferred. Proven ability to gain consensus, influence organizational behaviour and lead timely decision making processes in a matrix environment. This is a very influencing role with many organizational interfaces, both across functions and internationally. Excellent written and oral communications skills with ability to communicate to medical audiences. Energy and motivation: the role requires high levels of self-motivation and energy.
